This Is What You Need To Hear Right Now: Being ready for a relationship means having the capacity for one
A theme that's come up this week is capacity. Whether that's within yourself or the people you date. Because someone may want the benefits of a relationship, but it doesn't mean they have the space, emotional vulnerability, or drive to commit to a partnership.
A lot of times when people say they aren't ready for a relationship, we internalize it to think "they don't want to be in a relationship...with us." But this is often not the case. Sure, not every match will be a fit. But also we have no idea about their capacity for a relationship. As we talked about in this week's episode, our independence may be keeping us single or someone may simply not want to put in the necessary work needed for a relationship. And if you need a guide for some questions to gauge someone's capacity, check out this post we recently put on Instagram.
