❤️ Do They Have the Capacity For A Relationship? | The Dateable Dish

Hello Dateables,

Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone is headed into a fun (or better yet, relaxing) weekend. We've been busy recording / working on a couple special projects before Julie takes off for her honeymoon to Greece and Yue goes back to the mothership of China for a visit.

We also wanted to take a minute to welcome anyone who may have come over after listening to our episode that aired today on the podcast U Up? Welcome to the Dateable fam! And Dateables, definitely check it out as we had a super fun convo with their hosts, Jared Freid and Jordana Abraham about Julie's wedding, Yue officiating and also of course, the 'Other Woman' story came up (iykyk).

This Is What You Need To Hear Right Now: Being ready for a relationship means having the capacity for one

A theme that's come up this week is capacity. Whether that's within yourself or the people you date. Because someone may want the benefits of a relationship, but it doesn't mean they have the space, emotional vulnerability, or drive to commit to a partnership.

A lot of times when people say they aren't ready for a relationship, we internalize it to think "they don't want to be in a relationship...with us." But this is often not the case. Sure, not every match will be a fit. But also we have no idea about their capacity for a relationship. As we talked about in this week's episode, our independence may be keeping us single or someone may simply not want to put in the necessary work needed for a relationship. And if you need a guide for some questions to gauge someone's capacity, check out this post we recently put on Instagram.

❤️ Share with a friend that also needs to hear this as well.

What We're Up To This Week
