❤️ Our Baby Has Arrived | The Dateable Dish

February 01, 2025

Hey Dateables,

What. A. Week. 'How to Be Dateable: The Essential Guide to Finding Your Person & Falling in Love' is officially out into the world!!! We've loved the outpour of messages from everyone – tagging photos that your books have arrived and even sharing your favorite parts so far!

Some of our fave comments:

....The intro is straight up the truth. I can't believe how much I'm in my feelings.

....You guys somehow identified every single issue with modern dating and are giving hope and optimism at the same time.

....I got my book and started reading the first part! I love the smooth and powerful read already!

Please keep sending us these comments + photos when you see our book out in the wild (aka a bookstore) or even of you with the book (loved some of the creative sends in the FB group!)

We're celebrating in LA this week where we'll be doing a book launch event at Village Well Books. We'll be in conversation with the fabulous comedian Allison Goldberg who hosts the 'Love Isn't Blind' live show. So LA peeps come through!!! It's free on Thursday 2/6 @7pm. Also make sure to check out 'Love Isn't Blind' when it comes to your city! There are upcoming shows in Orange County, Portland, San Francisco, DC, NYC, San Diego & LA.

This Is What You Need To Hear Right Now: It's not to much to ask for the bare minimum

In dating, we often think we're asking for far too much when in fact we ask for way too little. It's not too much to ask for someone to be as invested as you are. It's not too much for someone to text when they say they will. It's not too much for someone to setup and commit to plans with ample notice. It's not too much for someone to be there with you through the hard times. And it's not too much for someone to be committed to making things work.

When someone you're dating gives you 10% effort, instead of giving them 9%, give them zero. Your needs are valid. And the right person will want to meet them.

So next time you're feeling like you're being "too needy" or "too much" remember that most times what you're asking for is the bare minimum. Instead of repressing your needs or sinking to their level, raise your expectations of how you want to be treated. The right people will rise up.

❤️ Forward to a friend that also needs to hear this as well.
