❤️ Scare Them Away | The Dateable Dish

Hey Dateables,

We're still in the wave of excitement from the release of our book 'How to Be Dateable.' We just did an incredible launch event in LA at Village Well Books. We had a fantastic turnout and loved meeting so many of you – and even got to meet a cele-birdy (iykyk). Tag us too if you have any photos or videos from the event as we'd love to see them! You can check out some pics on our IG as well!

A big thanks to Allison Goldberg who moderated the event! She was hilarious and we loved hearing that our book was giving her inspiration to come out of dating retirement. If you haven't yet, make sure to check out her live show 'Love Isn't Blind.' There are upcoming shows in Orange County, Portland, San Francisco, DC, NYC, San Diego & LA.

And for our San Francisco Dateables we have three upcoming events for you!!! Come to our V-day Launch Party and event, our book in-conversation w/ Dr. Marie Thouin, or our parlor-style talk.

This Is What You Need To Hear Right Now: Any action outweighs inaction

We had a great question at our live event last night: how do you help a Thinker get out of their own way? And our answer: Take action.

Even for the non-thinkers out there, we often get questions like: "Should I wait to text them?" or "Is it too early to introduce the person I'm seeing to friends?" The reality is there are no timelines or "steps" to take to ensure your relationship works out. We spend far too much time overanalyzing situations (or asking our friends for their opinion!), instead of just talking to the actual person we're dating.

So next time you feel yourself in a rumination spiral wondering what to do next, instead of consulting the group text to weigh all the options, just take action. Text the person. Ask them on that date. Share that you want to meet their family. While it may be scary to be this direct, it truly is the only way. Only then will you know if someone is on the same page as you. And if they're not?  Then it either opens the gate for conversations or you have your answer if they are worth investing more time into.

Because when you take action, you get answers. And ultimately that is what helps you get the necessary information to take control of your love life.

❤️ Forward to a friend that also needs to hear this as well.

What We're Up To This Week

🎧  New Episode Alert! Scare Them Away Season 20 is back baby!!!  This episode is a banger and we guarantee you'll feel more empowered after listening to it. And we'll have an all new #brunchtalk this Sunday as well. We're trying a slightly different format so check it out and let us know what you think!

🎉 Dateable day is happening this Saturday and some local groups are meeting up IRL whether it's for brunch, at the park, or however else they want to connect. We're excited to celebrate the release of the book and use this as an excuse for more in-person connection.

🍤 Julie is doing some catering tastings which in her and her partner's opinion may be the best part of wedding planning!

🌁 Yue is chilling the F out this weekend before she heads up to San Francisco for an action-packed week!

Your Deal of the Week:

Yue is rocking her clothes from Armoire where she'll be wearing some new looks for the SF events this week. Get 50% off your first month of clothing rentals (up to $125 off) with the code DATEABLE

We're still coming down from the high from the event last night and can't wait to keep the energy going all week! Have a great weekend everyone!

Stayyyy Dateable.

XOXO,

Julie & Yue

Our book How To Be Dateable is temporarily 59% off on Amazon, which is a really big sale. You can also find it in bookstores and get the audio book. Hello Dateables, We’ve been talking a lot lately about something that’s become completely normalized in modern dating: constant communication. The texts all day.
