Hello Dateables,

Bring out the white; it's officially the start to summer! Hope your Memorial Day weekend is filled with fun, sun, and whatever else lights you up.

We had a blast in LA last week with two incredible book events. Thank you again Santa Monica Public Library for hosting our 'How to Be Dateable' Book talk, Zibby's bookstore, Damona Hoffman for being an incredible moderator, and to everyone that came out! You can check out the pics we just posted on Instagram. Also a big shout-out to Ground Floor in LA that had us back for another event! We had a great time with a more intimate group. Leaving everyone more hopeful about dating had our hearts full.

If you're looking for the perfect way to unwind this long-weekend, reading (or listening) to 'How to Be Dateable' poolside has never sounded so good. Pick up your hardcover, kindle version or audiobook today. Send us pics, we love seeing them!

This Is What You Need To Hear Right Now: Let's change the markers of dating success

This has come up too many times to count at all of our book events + was a theme on this week's episode with fan-fav Marni Battista: we need to start looking at what makes dating "success" differently.

The point of dating is to find the right person – for you. The reality is that most people will not be that person, nor will you be for them. And this OK! It's what makes finding that person so damn special.

But the problem is when we hold the metric of success to "did we end up in a relationship?" or "did we go on another date?" we're being set up to fail. Because 99% of people you. meet are not going to be your match!

We need to start looking through the threshold of: "Am I being myself?" "Am I being considerate to this other person, and treating them like a partner (even if it's a partner for 1 hour)?" And most importantly, "Am I staying true to myself and honoring my needs in the process of dating this person?"

Remember, rejection is just redirection. It says nothing about your worth or value as a person. It doesn't matter if you get to the next date if it's with the wrong person. A better metric is to show up as the realest, most authentic version of you. The right person wouldn't fathom letting that go. And the rest: let them make room for THAT person.

❤️ Share with a friend that also needs to hear this as well.
