❤️ When & How to DTR + Massive Book Sale | The Dateable Dish

March 27, 2026

Our book is currently 50% off on Amazon! This is an insane sale that we have no control over and have no idea when it'll end. So if you haven't gotten the book yet, go do so now!

Hello Dateables,

Happy Friday! We wanted to take the time to share some interesting data that can help you turn endless dates and undefined situationshps into actual relationships.

We asked the dateable community: When do you define a relationship? Turns out, 62% do it within three months.

That three-month mark isn’t random. It’s when most relationships either get defined or quietly fall into ambiguity. Clarity starts to show up — or confusion gets louder.

Not everyone follows the same timeline. 19% define things in the first month, another 19% wait six months or more (with 9% of those people taking up to a year!)

It’s not about moving too fast or too slow but rather at the same speed. It's not that it has to be defined at three-months, but here's how you can use this timeframe whatever pace you chose to go at:

1. Treat 3 months as a check-in, not a deadline.
Focus on understanding where you both stand. Clarity is the goal, not pressure.

2. Speak up before it feels “perfect.”
Most situationships fail because conversations are avoided. Defining the relationship comes from communication, not waiting.

3. Align on timelines, not just chemistry.
Connection alone isn’t enough. Alignment in pace and expectations prevents relationships from derailing.

4. Treat confusion as information.
If clarity hasn’t emerged yet, take it as a signal to address it. Situations that drag on without definition rarely resolve on their own.

5. Normalize ongoing check-ins.
Defining the relationship isn’t a single conversation. Strong relationships check in regularly as people evolve and circumstances change.

I’s not about when the relationship gets defined. It’s about moving forward together on the same timeline.

Maybe this info was instantly helpful to you or you're thinking:  I can't even get past the few dates, yet to the point of defining anything. Well, first off like we mentioned earlier, our book 'How to Be Dateable: The Essential Guide to Finding Your Person & Falling in Love' is currently 50% off on Amazon. But even better, everyone who gets the book (or audiobook, or kindle edition) automatically gets our Ultimate DTR Guide for FREE. And that's because we feel so confident you'll need it after reading the book. Sorry if we spoiled the surprise gift at the end, but we want you to have this info so bad! So if you already have the book, this is also your cue to finish it (or skip to the end to get the link, we won't tell).

Here's to better relationships in 2026!

Happy weekend all. Stayyyy Dateable!

Julie & Yue
